Students gain a critical understanding of the correlations between education and the development of societies and individuals. Called O@BSE, the immersive classroom offers innovative online courses to students and working professionals who might not have access to a Berkeley education. For students not enrolled at Berkeley, we offer a non-degree certificate in Education during the summer called Educating for the 21st Century. The primary focus of the UME is on potential as well as existing models of education in our diverse society. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Educational Sciences, and a minor in Education.
